Baptism

A symbolic picture of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ

What is Baptism?

Baptism declares that you are a follower of Jesus Christ. It is a public confession of your faith in and commitment to Him. It is the next step after Salvation through repentance and faith and is an important foundation for the Christian life.

As we go under the water we bury the ‘old life’. When we come out of the water we walk in a ‘new life’. Colossians 2:12-14

2 Cortinthians 5:17: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

Frequently Asked Questions

Jesus himself was baptized. He was not a sinner yet He humbled himself in obedience to identify with us and give us an example to follow. Mark 1:9: It came to pass in those last days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.

If you didn’t make the decision yourself to be baptized, we encourage you to make that public declaration.

If the case is that you were baptized but somethings have transpired in your life to where you want to publicly declare that you are burying that old life and are choosing to life according to the Bible as a new creation, we encourage you to take that step!

We do baptize children, when they are of age to make a public declaration. If your child is asking questions about Salvation and Baptism, we have resources available for you to help them in their understanding. Please see a Pastor to receive these helpful resources. We want to make sure that each person understands the meaning of baptism before choosing to experience it.
